Eagle Heights Christian Academy (EHCA) is a ministry of First Baptist Church in Pearland, Texas. It was established in 1966, originally named Baptist Kindergarten School. There were two classes the first year, expanding to three classes with 56 students the second year.
Over the years, it has continued to grow and expand while undergoing a series of name changes. Preschool classes were added in the early 1970's, and state licensing was secured in 1976. The school changed its name in 1989 to become SONshine Learning Center which contained two entities: Pearland Christian Preschool and Pearland Christian School. The Mother's Day Out Program was instituted in 1991, and in 1993, first grade was added. Each year thereafter, a grade was added up through the eighth grade in 2001-2002 school year. During this time, the name was changed to Eagle Heights Christian Academy (1997) which encompassed the Mother's Day Out Program, Preschool, Elementary, and Middle School grades. Beginning the 2005-2006 school year High School was added, and in May 2008 EHCA had its first graduate. EHCA celebrated graduates in 2011 and 2012 and is looking forward to an outstanding graduating class of all Honors students in 2013.
In addition to exceptional academics, EHCA offers Early Morning and After School Care, an on-campus hot lunch program, an active Athletics program, and a variety of ancillary classes including Computer, Physical Education, Spanish, Music/Band/Choir, SAT/College Preparation and Library.
Our Principal, John W. Stahl, has been in the education field for over 40 years with 32 years in public school and 20 of those years spent in the Pearland Independent School District. Mr. Stahl is in his 10th year as Principal at EHCA. He loves our students and personally greets them most mornings. He takes personally his role in providing strong academics in a loving, caring, and nurturing environment for all students. Mr. Stahl has an open-door policy - parents are always welcome to visit with him regarding any questions or concerns they may have. Mr. Stahl's strong values and beliefs are mirrored in each and every member of our staff. We look forward to partnering with you in preparing your child for a bright future.
